The Campuhan Ridge Walk forms a prism-like structure with ravines on both sides. In the middle of the hill, there’s a footpath that serves as a trail for visitors to explore the area.

As far as the eye can see, you’ll be treated to views of wide expanses of small grasslands. There aren’t many trees, just a few coconut trees spaced a few meters apart. Outside the savanna area, you’ll notice clusters of dense green trees.

The trail is quite easy, though there are some slight inclines and a few steep sections. The middle of the hill is a favorite spot for taking photos. Holding a floppy hat while taking pictures is a popular pose among female visitors. From here, you can also enjoy a gentle breeze that adds a cool effect to your photos.

Trekking Routes

To reach the location, you can take one of two routes. The first route starts from Pura Gunung Lebah, which is located not far from the Blanco Museum. From there, you’ll turn onto a paved road at Ibah Villa & Luxury Spa and follow the path to the Campuhan Ridge Walk trail.

If you start from the Gunung Lebah Temple route, you’ll immediately enter a grassland area with ravines on both sides. No need to rush for photos, as the best spots are in the middle of the trail.

If you start from Desa Keliki, Tegallalang District, the walk is more leisurely. Along the way, you’ll pass by several cafes, villas, and rice fields. From the rice fields and cafes, the trekking route is about 800 meters long.

The best times to visit are early in the morning and late in the afternoon. In the morning, you can arrive before the sun rises, and in the afternoon, you can catch the sunset. Since the trail is on top of a hill, there are no obstructions to the beautiful natural views.

On clear days, you’ll find some visitors ready to watch the morning sun emerge slowly, brushing away the distant fog. Its rays gradually light up the earth and warm you up.

In the evening, visitors gather with their cameras to capture the moment. The sunset is breathtaking, as the sun bids farewell with an orange glow, signaling the end of the day and promising to return tomorrow.

Hiking

Hiking the Campuhan Ridge Walk is easy, even for beginners. The trail is clear, flat, and about 1.5 meters wide. The distance to the top of the hill is approximately 2 kilometers.

This distance can be covered in just 15-20 minutes. In the morning or late afternoon, you’ll see some visitors jogging leisurely. Some even bring their dogs for a walk.

By trekking, visitors can reach the Golden Spot, a favorite area for many. It’s located in the middle of the hill, with a vast grassland free of trees. Some visitors specifically trek to the Golden Spot and then return.
